Floss, Charlie and I become the pupils during August!
We attended an instructor's Advanced workshop and an Instructor training workshop, both run by the head instructor of Mantrailing UK to make sure we were able to give our Hiddy Tykes the best sessions possible
Both Floss and Charlie were amazing, Charlie conquered more of his fears and found his missing person in a horse box, as well a high find in the cockpit of a plane. Floss took scent from a half-eaten bread bun (she didn't attempt to eat it) and did her first double blind with me and took scent off a "body on the floor" - successfully finding her missing person each time.
It was great to catch up with other instructors and be able to look at new techniques and ideas for our future session. I got to be the missing person for some pretty amazing dogs.
I feel it is so important for any teacher/instructor to keep themselves up to date and be peer observed as well as trying things out with my own dogs so I can pass them onto my lovely clients.
We have lots of exciting things planned for the last quarter of the year, the first batch of dates are on the website - be spooked by Halloween and join us for Christmas fun. There are some evening sessions as its important the dogs (and humans) can trail in the dark. As always let me know if you have any ideas for venues or dates.

Two great Yorkshire Day trailing sessions in private woodland owned by Duncombe Park estate just outside Helmsley.
